The internet has become an amateur porn dump

Back in the day, finding porn on the internet was very hard.  It was really like trying to find a needle in a haystack.  When you type in on a search engine like AltaVista, or excite, or lycos, back in 1996 or 1997, you get “porn” results.  But when you click on a link it just takes you to a series or pages full of ads, and you click a link and the same types of pages. There were really no pictures and definitely no movies, you just click, click, and click.  This was called a circle jerk. The guys who made these pages made lots of money back then because for every ad that you click, they make money.  It may have been pennies per click or a quarter per click but those add up. Millions were made while not much porn is being viewed.

Finding amateur models on Backpage.Com

Everybody’s heard of Craiglist.com–one of the biggest and earliest pioneers of online classifieds.  It originally got big because it has an amazing jobs page.  People looking for a job, orignally in San Francisco, could check out that site and get really nice listings for jobs that weren’t advertised anywhere else and that pay really well.  Building on this reputation, Craigslist branched-out into other classified sections.  What I’d like to talk about in this post is its section on erotic services.

Craigslist got in a lot of hot water a few years back because some prosecutors were saying that people were using the “Erotic Services” section to advertise or solicit prostitution.  Well, that’s true–only a blind person would think that all of those ads were innocent cuz they pretty much looked like straight out escort ads.  There are some listings that do make sense, for example, amateur modelling ads and ads soliciting amateur models on craigslist.
